The History of Tashiro Dojo

1962 (Shōwa 36): On November 26 the memorial demonstration to mark the inauguration of the Nagoya Branch of Aikikai was held at the Aichi Prefectural Sports Hall.
Ueshiba Morihei and Ueshiba Kisshomaru opened the event with their demonstration.
(Branch Chief: Ota Genji Sensei, Dojo Head: Tashiro keizan Sensei)
Tashiro Dojo opened its doors to Aikikai to operate as the Nagoya branch dojo every other day.
Uchideshi (live-in disciple) Chiba Kazuya Sensei was the first instructor to be dispatched from the Aikido headquarters. Later Kanai 満也 Sensei was also dispatched to Aichi.
1965: Ichihashi紀彦 Shihan and Watanabe 季 Shihan, from the Aikido headquarters provided periodic instruction.
1969: On April 26 Ueshiba Morihei Sensei, the founder of Aikido passed away.
His son, Kisshomaru succeeded him as the second head of the system.
Komeda Ichihei Sensei was instated as Nagoya Branch Chief, taking over from of Ota Genji Sensei.
1970: On March 12 Tashiro Keizan Sensei passed away.
His son, Tashiro Fumihiro succeeded him as the second dojo chief.
1976: The All Japan Aikido Federation was formed.
1977: Tashiro Dojo participated in the 15th Annual Japan Demonstration Event and has participated every year since.
1979: In February, the Shizoka Prefecture Kannami training camp was held. Chiba Kazuo Sensei gave practical instruction. Hougen和尚taught zazen (sitting meditation).
In August, the first Nagoya Branch training session was organized and taught by Chiba Kazuo Sensei.
1980: The Nagoya Branch was reorganized, exchange and mutual development with other Aikikai member dojo was promoted and the education of upcoming junior students was strengthened.
In June a training camp was held at the Gifu Prefecture Yuumori Budoukan which was taught by Chiba Kazuo Sensei.
1981: On September 23rd Nagoya Branch’s 20th Anniversary Demonstration Event was held at the Aichi Prefectural Welfare Pension Hall and was attended by Ueshiba Kisshomaru Doushuu.
1982: July: attended practice at the Iwama Ibaraki Dojo.
September: The Tokai Area Aikido Federation was formed.
1983: July: training camp was held in Hourai town of Aichi prefecture and instructed by Morihiro Saito Sensei.
1984: July: training camp was held in Hourai town of Aichi prefecture and instructed by大澤喜三郎Sensei.
1985: June: training camp was held in Hourai town of Aichi prefecture and instructed by Chiba Daiwa Kigen Sensei of the San Diego Aikikai (Chiba Sensei adopted this name after becoming a Buddhist priest).
1986: July: training camp was held in Horai town of Aichi Prefecture and instructed by Watanabe 季 Sensei.
October: Joint training with San Diego Aikikai. (Nishibiwa-Jima Sports Center)
1987: June: Participated in the first Tokai Aikido Federation Workshop which was was held with Kissomaru Ueshiba Sensei as instructor (Participated in every year since)
October: Nagoya Aikido branch joint training (Nishibiwa-Jima Sports Center)
1989: June: Participated in the Japan, U.S., France Aikido Friendship Training (Mie Prefecture Suzuka)
1990: April: 23 Members attended Aikido training at San Diego Aikikai in Sister Dojo Exchange
1991: May: Trained at Iwama Ibaraki Dojo
October 13: Nagoya Branch 30th Anniversary Aikido demonstration   < Welcoming held at Nishibiwa-Jima Sports Center for Ueshiba Moriteru Sensei >
October 16: Passing of Head of Nagoya Aikikai 長米田一平 Sensei
1992: May: Mr. Tashiro Fumihiro takes over as head of Nagoya branch
June: Gifu Prefecture Tajimi City Gym Training Camp
1993: April 17-18: Special training with Ueshiba Moriteru Sensei (Tashiro Dojo /Niwa Dojo)
1994: April 16-17: Special training with Ueshiba Moriteru Sensei (Tashiro Dojo /Northern Sports Center)
1995: April 15-16 Special training with Ueshiba Moriteru Sensei (Tashiro Dojo /Aichi Gakuin University Kusumoto Dojo)
